What The Frak Is Up With Battlestar Galactica?

footer

Season Four, the final season, starts tomorrow night. I’ve tried to follow over the last few years but the series has been so many places it’s hard to. Sci Fi Channel put together an 8 minute clip that catches you up through the first three season.

Paranormal State

This morning I was able to catch a few episodes of Paranormal State, a new A&E show, On Demand. I have to say that while the premise of the show is a good one, it seems too flashy to survive very long. Others have said the same thing. It follows a group of college-aged (Ryan Buell, the founder of their society, is already graduated) paranormal investigators.

chip_raymond_sThis team looks to follow the template of any super-team: The leader with a  tortured past, the tech expert (who is almost certainly family), the Pagan, and the newbie. They even call upon outside experts like medium Chip Coffey, who is definitely family. All that is missing from their team are the crack demolitions expert, the holographic super computer, and the supersonic jet that carries them from adventure to adventure. Seriously though, the show seems somewhat scripted, a bit cheesy, but I think they can still turn it around.

RyanBuell Oh, and by the way, Ryan Buell is hot. By hot, I mean hot in a “he-should-do-a-home-sex-video-with-Pete-Wentz-and-I’d-download-it-and-love-it” kind of way.

Full Television Episodes Online

I recently discovered a great time-waster: OPENhulu. It’s a catalog of full episodes of television shows online in Flash format (a la YouTube). Free, and no registration needed!

weekend update

So far this weekend not much has gone on. I spent some time with my grandmother–”Gammy”–yesterday. She had to take care of some banking and since it involved my name on her accounts, naturally I had to be there. Spending time with my grandmother is always special for me (even though she moved back to town, we still only see each other every one or two months). Yesterday we had to go over some plans in case anything happens to her. Ever since mom died we’ve talked about this a lot, but each time it brings up the same emotions.

I also picked up Season 3 of The Shield, which only leaves Season 2 to complete my collection. By now, they have all been watched though. When I get something like that it’s time to sit down and disappear for a while. I was going to go to Best Buy today and see if they have seasons of The First 48, which has rapidly become one of my favorite shows. They don’t carry it. If you’ve never seen the show, check it out. The A&E web site has a video section, and The First 48 is under Crime & Investigation.

Here are some random info nuggets:

I’ve been reading several other blogs lately, some of which I’ve really enjoyed so far. Others are more of a glimpse into the minds of the enemy. Blogroll points your way.

I believe I have seen the next push to invade the US, coming from Japan naturally. This will allow the little people to infiltrate our nation without even being seen. Countdown to invasion begins…

That is, unless the invasion is a bunch of angry, treasonous lesbians.
