Boom!

Sick as a fucken dog

The other morning I came home, went to sleep, and felt fine. Sometime during the night (your day, mostly likely) something went wrong. I woke up and could hardly swallow, my throat was so swollen. After a night full of gasping for air through a straw I went back to sleep knowing how much homework I have to do this weekend. I woke up, and shit, still there. This time, looking in the mirror, you can plainly see what looks like a marble under my skin on my right side under my jaw. Nasty.

Of course, this didn’t stop me from seeing Spidey today. He knew I was sick so he didn’t rush me to get ready once he got here (kidding on that one…”Okay, let’s get ready to go”…”Okay, let’s get ready to go”). We went to see the Reno 911! movie, which was good if you like the show. We went to dinner afterwards, hit Best Buy (where I found a notebook I’ll probably go back for once I get my tax return), then he dropped me off at home.

So, I haven’t posted any pics of him (or he and I together) because whenever I mention someone, or post a pic of them, things seem to end at that point. I don’t think that will happen here. I haven’t had much luck with guys in the last year or so (or period, really), so I am happy and proud that I found something that seems to work out. I’m trying not ot get ahead of myself, and at times have though that he is just too good to be true. I don’t know. I don’t have to watch when I call him, or how often, because he doesn’t see it as weird. He loves to hear from me. And it’s usually him that initiates it, as if he really was interested in contacting me!

Sorry if all of this seems ridiculous, it just genuinely seems like a foreign concept to me that someone can find me physically attractive. I know that inside I have way more to offer than most who have the looks, and I am not letting this viewpoint get in the way of anything with Spidey progressing.

Inspiration

So the other day while I was getting ready for work I was inspired to take a typical top-down photo of myself, a la MySpace. None of my photos are really that recent, the most current being about 3 or 4 months old. Here’s the result.

I’m still tinkering with my Dash. I know Shelly, I know, but I’ve talked about my Dash way less than you’ve talked about that issue, so it’s really not a fair deal. I’m on a quest to find the best free programs for Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone Edition, and so far it’s pretty difficult. There are many paid programs which I am sure work great, but I’m never the type to go with an expensive commercial app if I can find a similar free one. Cheap? Maybe. Here’s what I have found so far:

  • Agile Messenger: A paid program but in beta right now and is the Trillian of mobile IM clients.
  • BT Audio: When the Bluetooth headset is paired all of the sound gets routed through it instead of just call notifications.
  • PHM Registry Editor: It’s Windows, so you can edit the registry.
  • SetJogBar: For some reason T-Mobile decided to use the touch sensitive jog bar on the side to only control volume. This app allows it to be a scrollbar and app launcher.
  • SmartSS: Screenshot tool.
  • Virtual Earth Mobile: Mobile version of Virtual Earth. Very handy.
  • TCPMP: The Core Portable Media Player: PLay several video and audio file formats. Handy for watching downloaded movies and TV episodes. Or porn.
  • WordPad: Smartphone Edition only lets you view text files, not edit them. This helps.
  • Toggleview: Toggles the icon view to list view.
  • Adobe Flash Lite: Mobile version of Adobe’s Flash Player. (Think downloaded YouTube videos.)
  • SUPER: Okay, this isn’t a WM5 app but it does let you encode just about any video or audio file format into one that plays well on WM5. WMV if you’re a fan of the mobile version of Windows Media Player, AVI/MPEG/MP4/FLV if you’re not. (One episode of COPS which was a WMV file at 181 MB was turned into 40 MB AVI.)
  • Audacity: Another app not for WM5, but you can slice up WAV/MP3/OGG files and export them to use as ringtones. Here’s my current ringer.

Speaking of police, here’s a Ford commercial that I never saw before. Kind of funny, except the stereotypical portrayal of police officers as fat old men. Although when I become one, I hope to still be able to drive that well.

Kitty has found a new place that she likes to lay. Curious as to why she waited until she was so big to lay here.

I got my new Blade-Tech duty holster. It uses their Tek-Lok system to attach itself, which is really just a fancy way of saying that it goes over the duty belt and snaps in place without having to thread it through. Wasn’t too terribly expensive, but it took them almost 8 weeks to make. With that long you would imagine they would have made it for the right size barrel (mine is 4″ Duty model, they made it for the 5″ Tactical model). At least I won’t have to clean dust and debris out of the barrel very often!

Beautiful, dirty slushiness

Ii have never been so happy to see rain before. Most of the snow and ice are gone, and I hope I’m gone by the time it gets back.

Like Christy Yamaguchi

This snow is killing this entire city. It took me almost two hours to get from I-5 Lake City Way exit to 125th, and the traffic from the Seahawks game from yesterday evening was still going on at 5am this morning. Nobody knows how to drive in it, myself included. I was just stuck at the Starbucks parking lot until some hottie in a Chevy came and offered to tow me out. I have no clue how I am going to get to work tomorrow night. The weather is supposed to be pretty cold tonight, which means the ice will most likely stay. Not good for my nightly commute.

Which brings up another realization: Guys treat conflict reparation much differently than women and gay men I notice. For example, when my roommate and I were stuck in the parking lot laughs and banter went to shit after a while and frustration set in. After a few words, the problem was overcome and things went on. With women and other gay men I know this shit lingers, and lingers, and comes back to bite you in the ass.

I ordered my jumpsuit almost two weeks ago, but won’t look nearly as hot as this guy does in it. Hopefully I’ll get it in time for it being useful.

Here’s some photos of my car at work the other night.

Pic of the bird I promised.

beaten and sprayed

Mid-terms are here and currently being worked on. Not fun, but at least they’re pretty easy this time around.
We have our Defensive Tactics refresher courses coming up. Those should be fun, especially the OC part. Good thing I don’t have to actually get sprayed again…that wasn’t fun the first time.

I hate q-tips

Over the last few days I’ve had an ear infection, and let me tell you, it’s not comfortable. My right ear feels like it has a cork in it, and it’s hard to open my jaw to eat much of anything. It hurts the most when I wake up, but after a few ibuprofen it feels somewhat better. It’s also made it pretty hard to even think, let alone create a victim profile for my assignment (that is 2 days past due).

I was browsing the lovely HS2000 Forums and came across a fairly nice idea for my Springfield XD. I colored the sights to help me visually acquire targets better.
