Paranormal State
This morning I was able to catch a few episodes of Paranormal State, a new A&E show, On Demand. I have to say that while the premise of the show is a good one, it seems too flashy to survive very long. Others have said the same thing. It follows a group of college-aged (Ryan Buell, the founder of their society, is already graduated) paranormal investigators.
This team looks to follow the template of any super-team: The leader with a tortured past, the tech expert (who is almost certainly family), the Pagan, and the newbie. They even call upon outside experts like medium Chip Coffey, who is definitely family. All that is missing from their team are the crack demolitions expert, the holographic super computer, and the supersonic jet that carries them from adventure to adventure. Seriously though, the show seems somewhat scripted, a bit cheesy, but I think they can still turn it around.
Oh, and by the way, Ryan Buell is hot. By hot, I mean hot in a “he-should-do-a-home-sex-video-with-Pete-Wentz-and-I’d-download-it-and-love-it” kind of way.
